LOCK ONE OF THESE IMPORTANT DATES IN YOUR DIARY NOW! Wollongong - 21st July 2008 Online bookings available here or download this order form and fax through NOW Why? Australian parents challenge teachers and schools in ways they never have before. They are more protective, and more indulgent of their kids and less respectful of teachers’ authority than in the past. They are also less likely to be supportive of their teaching and behaviour management methods. Parental expectations of schools have grown out of proportion to the level of service that most schools can provide. Catering to children’s individual needs now extends way beyond curriculum areas to include individual dietary and behavioural requirements. Conversely, parents lack confidence, are unsure of their roles and feel under pressure to get their parenting right. The challenge for schools is to support parents, while dealing at times with challenging behaviours that weakens the partnership between staff and parents. In response to this challenge I am conducting Dealing with Challenging Parents seminar in capital cities in 2008. This seminar draws on my work with Australian parents, Australian schools and from the UK educational scene in recent years. In this seminar I will reveal:
This will be a incredibly valuable session, whether you are a school leader, classroom teacher or a student welfare teacher. I look forward to see you there.
